I got the travel bug during the undergrad years, like many of us do during that period of life. Fortunately, volunteering and work afforded me opportunities to see places and faces that I otherwise would not have. Also, over the years, being outside on trails in the forests, mountains and deserts served as entry ways into developing an appreciation for the joy and contentedness that nature provides when amidst it. Too, rivers, lakes, oceans and other bodies of water enhanced that appreciation.
Whether it’s traveling around the USA or the globe, hiking and biking public lands, bodysurfing or snorkeling, or paddling a kayak or SUP, this site is base camp for my writing and photography. Food and drink are part of it, too, as is celebrating our humanity. All of that, and more, is found here.
I’ll be posting archival content, as well as new writings, and it’s all free to you. Each week, something I’ll dig up from 30 years of travel and work will land here. Each month, new postings will appear, possibly from San Diego, where I live, or wherever I am in that moment. Travel tips and guides will be offered to readers.
